Smashing!

Ok so I felt in a mushy kinda loving mood today so I went with this pin http://pinterest.com/pin/148126275214602332/ and decided I'd make my husband one from out wedding song, My mom a cup from her grandson and my BFE (Best est Friend Ever) a plate with a saying she adores...So I went to dollar tree and picked up two white plates and one coffee mug. This also requires a Sharpe so I got 2 one fine and one bold...Now it says to just write what the hell ever on it you feel so I did and then bake them at 150 for 30 minutes and I did...
     Here's what you need
and this is it before the oven, not sure if I preferred the Fine or the Bold Sharpie
 Awww how cute right??
WRONG This shit is bunk! It did not work!!! Now it does stay if you plan on never using a sponge to it lightly or getting it wet and having something rub on it ...not sure if the dishwasher takes this off because I was so Pissed when I lightly took the soft side of the sponge to it and it was wiping off I said "Fu** It" damn you for getting me excited and making me deal with the crazies at dollar tree...But whateves I'm gonna give the mug to my mom and not tell her it rubs off and that I paid $ 30 to have Ryden do this ...Bahahahaa

A little mood lighting if I may

Okay so I decided to do a lil pin I saw but since I didn't have what it required I improvised! Here's the pin http://pinterest.com/pin/148126275214389232/ Now you need parchment to do this pin and since I didn't have that I went with plain white computer paper and cut half like moons like this

Then I took a couple markers and proceeded to color it into a American Flag like I was 6 years old ...lol
Hey I'm going for cute not perfect people so stay with me...

Then I folded it back and forth into about a quarter inch folds like sooo..

Then with the pieces I connected them with tape and hid that in a fold

Then I set a tea light inside a cute soup mason jar (from fresh and easy they pack soups in them) sat my lil homemade shade on top and wallah, I'll revisit this one once I have the proper tools but hey I thought it was cute..

I can Sew Glue that!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!! BE SAFE! Thank you to everyone who has came and checked this blog out and also for suggesting certain pins and sending me the links or tagging me in them it's much appreciated and it makes this that more fun to get you guys in on it with me! So here's this link for the Project today http://pinterest.com/pin/148126275214641047/ it's Notions and pin cushion holder this retails on etsy for over $40 bucks!! I got my mason jars from Walmart for around $10 and it came in a 12 pack also I used scrap fabric you only need like 3 to 4 inches around ...also I scrapped the whole sewing the pillow and decided to hot glue instead, only because my Nuggets are sleeping and I don't dare poke the bear at the zoo...Now I did this project at 2 am the only time I would be able to do a project for today considering it's 4th of July and we'll be partying! (drunken craft project to follow baha)  Okay so things you'll need:

1.)Hot glue gun
2.)Mason or canning Jar
3.)Fabric about a 4in in diameter piece
4.)Poly-fil (pillow stuffing)
5.) Anything you want to decorate it with

Okay so I cut my fabric and heated up my Glue gun. Then I laid the inner seal lid on top of the fabric upside down (not the print of the fabric is facing down not towards me) then I started to fold and press the fabric like I was upholstering but I folded it with some slack for the stuffing and leaving a small enough space to be able to add my stuffing in between the lid and the fabric.

Okay now I have to stuff the cushion and well I don't want the underneath of the lid looking like a Rob Zombie flick so I cut a piece of my pink satin into a circle to cover this hot mess

I DID IT!! I added a ribbon around the base and a button for the center of the bow with a few lil jems here and there on the lid....I preferred doing this with the lace and satin because on the one I pinned it looks like burlap and well No thank you I like my version better....now mind you I burnt the shit out of my fingers a whole bunch during this process but It was worth it...so worth it I made one for my mom

So I have to say this turned out way better then the button bowl!!!

Cute Button Bowl MY ASS!

Ok so I did the button bowl off Pinterest http://pinterest.com/pin/148126275214562425/  Now this looks like a piece of cake right? WRONG ....Trial and error while complete kid pandemonium is going on in the back round! Thing you need for this project:
1.) Mod Podge (I'm using the homemade one I did earlier today)
2.) Dry Eraser or sponge (I got the imitation dry eraser from dollar tree and cut it in half )
3.) Latex Balloon
4.) something to rest balloon on or in during the button process
5.) Elmers glue or Tacky glue

Okay so I blew up my balloon (which started the instant tantrum from my son that wanted the balloon) ..ok Balloon is Full and Rydens screaming!! Next I took a Small box and placed my balloon up right (fat non twist on top) and started putting glue on each button and sticking it to my balloon.....DON'T DO THIS! Buttons and glue within 2 minutes are running down my balloon....so I took the glue on a cloth and smeared it thinly in sections on the balloon...THAT WORKS!! Ok now be careful while doing this that all sides are equal in weight as I had the balloon and buttons toppling over...Ya live and learn...But My learning consisted of Cursing yelling at a balloon and buttons and regretting ever doing this craft!!!! what the hell am I going to use this for?? My car keys?....a Target for shooting practice???...a Dog toy?? really what? Anyways once you have the bowl to the desired size let it dry for about an hr...Then come back with the sponge and mod podge and coat evenly...check for air bubbles and holes surrounding buttons. Mines still wet from this morning so hopefully will be good by tomorrow and I will update this post then.

Indy Butts decided to get in on this one!
This is when I started gluing individually....DON'T DO THIS!!!
This is where I got cocky and was thinking this is easy no big whoop!
This is where the Mother F#$%^& ..son of a BI$%^ began as the button were sliding down the balloon
okay after I used a cloth to apply the glue thinly and let set for 2-3 minutes I started getting the hang of it! I was all about lets get these bitches on in no particular order because I'm over this!
 Applying homemade "Mod Podge"
 Drying

So I wake up super eager to see if my homemade mod podge button bowl has dried and this is what
I find!!!!!!

WHAT THE F&CK!!!!!!! What the hell happened last night while I was sleeping!!??! Did the Craft police show up and decide this bowl wasn't up to there standards of ugly button bowls? ...Or was this bowl so upset because it was so horrible it committed suicide? Eulogy at my house 7 sharp! wear buttons bahaa

Gluetastic or flop? (mod Podge)

Ok so I started this morning with making my homemade Mod Podge (see previous post for link)
items needed :
1.) small sauce pan
2.) whisk
3.) sugar
4.) vinegar
5.) water
6.) Flour

It's a 3-1 Ratio so I added my sugar and my flour to the pan then the teaspoon of vinegar...I added about a quarter cup of water and on low heat I slowly added a tbl spoon at a time while whisking until I got a paste like consistency, after that I poured it into a jar and put in the fridge to let cool.

Off and Running....to bed?

Ok todays D day!! So excited to get this show on the road, I can't sleep so here are the links for what I plan to make tomorrow, first is homemade Mod Podge (now I've never used the stuff before so it maybe hard for me to compare to the real deal)http://pinterest.com/pin/148126275214620510/ Ok and by me making my mod podge I will be using it to make a button bowl like this one off pinterest www.pinterest.com/pin/148126275214562425/ ok so there ya go, we'll start off easy for the first day unless anyone has suggestions on what other lil crafty ideas they've seen on pinterest that require Mod Podge??
